PLASTEN FOR THE YOUNGEST ENGINEERS is a guided, hands-on entry point in two stages: build mechanical models — including electric ones — then learn Arduino. At the end, you decide what excites you more: programming or applied engineering, and continue into the matching PLASTEN Academy direction.

Assemble simple mechanical models — gears, linkages and motion transmission — and learn how mechanisms actually move.

Electric Models & Your First Automated Cell

Build electric models with DC motors and motor drivers, then combine a motor, a switch and a sensor into your first simple automated cell.

STAGE 2 · WEEK 03

Arduino Fundamentals

Basic electronics, sensors, actuators, and digital/analog I/O programming with Arduino.

STAGE 2 · WEEK 04

Arduino Projects

Combine sensors, actuators and simple logic into a small working Arduino project.

STAGE 2 · WEEK 05

Choose Your Path & Final Project

Present your final Arduino project, then decide your priority — programming or applied engineering — with guidance on the next PLASTEN Academy direction.

Assemble a simple model and understand how motion transmits through gears and linkages.

First Electric Model

Build a simple electric model and wire your first motor.

EXERCISE 03

First Automated Cell

Wire an electric motor with a switch and a sensor into a simple automated loop.

EXERCISE 04

Arduino Circuit

Wire and control a basic sensor-actuator circuit with Arduino.

FINAL PROJECT

Your Own Arduino Project

Design, build and present a small working Arduino project of your choice.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any prior experience?

No. This program is designed for absolute beginners — the youngest engineers — and starts from mechanical model building before moving into electric models and Arduino.

What do we build in the first stage?

You start by assembling simple mechanical models, then electric models with motors, and build your first simple automated cell — no programming required yet.

Do I need to buy an Arduino kit?

A basic Arduino starter kit is recommended for Stage 2. We will send you a shopping list before that stage begins.

How do I choose between programming and applied engineering?

In Week 5 you present your final Arduino project, and we'll help you decide based on what you enjoyed most. Programming leads into the Robotics direction; applied engineering leads into Industrial Engineering.
